Still, you need to get energy from somewhere, in order to get well before having to go to the doctor. With a few sick food recipes and ideas, you can feel better without drugs and doctor visits. So if you were wondering what to eat when you’re sick, we have a sick food recipe that also works as a hangover cure. You’ll only need three ingredients to make the magic work, and around 10 minutes of your time to prepare this adult puree recipe.

Sick Food – Food to Eat When Sick With the Flu

The best comfort food when you’re sick is something you can easily digest. The flu and common cold can also cause symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. So you need foods that won’t get stuck in your digestive tract for hours. Veggies and fruits are not your go-to choice when you’re sick, but you can pamper yourself with a puree recipe for adults.

Ingredients:

  • 3 small or medium carrots
  • 1/2 cup of daikon
  • 1 apple

Preparation:

Wash and peel the ingredients. If you trust your store to sell you organic fruits and veggies, the apple peel is packed full with nutrients, so leave it on. Daikon is a better choice when you’re sick, since radishes have a bit stronger taste and may put you off. For this puree recipe for adults, we used a grater, but feel free to juice or blend your produce if you’re feeling too weak to grate. Blend them well and eat them with toast. You can add ginger, apple cider and pepper to enhance the taste and induce sweating, or keep it clean and guzzle this puree as it is.

This recipe includes all the vitamins and minerals you need to re-energize your body during a virus infestation. Still, you can’t live on this simple puree recipe alone for the whole time you’re sick, regardless of how refreshing it is.
